Diamond Guide

DVINGE diamonds, like all diamonds, are a product of nature's exquisite craftsmanship. Composed of compressed carbon, they stand as a testament to the earth's artistic mastery, formed under tremendous heat, ranging from 1,000 to 1,300°C, and immense pressures that occur more than 150 kilometers beneath the earth's surface.

DVINGE takes pride in exclusively using natural diamonds and gemstones in our exquisite jewelry creations. This deliberate choice is rooted in a commitment to providing you with exceptional pieces that are not only beautiful but also hold unique qualities and value.

The 4C's

DVINGE recognizes that every diamond is a unique masterpiece, and its value is determined by a combination of four essential attributes, often referred to as the 4C's and standardized by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). These four dimensions—color, clarity, cut, and carat weight—paint a vivid picture of each of DVINGE diamond's individual excellence.

Our commitment to ethical practices ensures that all DVINGE diamonds are conflict-free and responsibly sourced. DVINGE diamonds, all exhibit exceptional qualities, including color grades of G or H, and clarity ranging from very slightly included (VS) to slightly included (SI), coupled with excellent or very good cuts.

Color Grade

The color grade of a DVINGE diamond measures its freedom from color. A scale, commencing from D (colorless) to Z, is used to assess the level of color present. DVINGE, when crafting engagement rings, assists clients in choosing diamonds within the color grades D, E, F, G, or H, exemplifying our dedication to providing brilliance and rarity.

Clarity Grade

The majority of diamonds exhibit inherent natural flaws, both internally as inclusions and externally as blemishes. The clarity grade is determined by evaluating the size, placement, quantity, and characteristics of these imperfections, collectively known as clarity features. Most of these attributes are too minuscule to be discerned by the naked eye and require a 10X magnification for observation. Clarity grades span from Flawless (FL), signifying the absence of inclusions and blemishes, to Included (I), indicating readily apparent inclusions when viewed under 10X magnification. NUIT et LINETTE diamonds are assessed across a range from Flawless (F) to Slightly Included (SI1) in terms of clarity grade.

Cut Grade

Among the 4C's, the cut grade holds paramount importance. The polish, symmetry, proportion, and facet arrangement define how DVINGE diamonds interact with light. A well-cut diamond allows light to gracefully enter through the crown, reflect within pavilion facets, and exit through the crown, showering the eye with fire, brilliance, and sparkle. DVINGE selects diamonds with cut grades ranging from Excellent to Very Good, ensuring exceptional beauty for the center stones in engagement rings.

Carat Weight

Carat weight denotes a DVINGE diamond's mass, with 1.00 carat equivalent to 0.2 grams. Generally, diamonds with higher carat weights hold greater value, yet two diamonds of equal carat weight can differ significantly in worth based on their color, clarity, and cut. Thus, DVINGE emphasizes considering all facets of the 4C's when comparing diamonds with identical carat weights, a testament to our commitment to providing you with the most exquisite DVINGE diamonds.
